AdamFor months, I was known only as “Stray”, but now they call me Adam. I never liked the name “Stray” and really don’t think it suits me, Adam is much more descriptive and certainly more dignified. If I ever had a family, I don’t remember them. Until now, my two years on earth have been difficult, to say the least. You see, the family that fed me wasn’t my own. I sort of adopted them after begging on doorsteps all around the neighborhood. They were kind enough to give me food, but couldn’t take me in, as they already had a cat and a DOG, who desperately wanted a piece of me. So I became “Stray”, living under their car in the sweltering summer (no picnic for a black cat) and in their bushes in the freezing winter, month after month. Then one especially cold evening, just before Thanksgiving, two ladies (neighborhood friends) came to see me. Although they had visited before, tonight was different. Before I knew it another lady came, they put me in a box, then in a car and all of a sudden, I was warm, there was plenty of food and I WAS ADAM. You see, they named me Adam, because I was the first animal rescued by the new Suncoast Animal League. Since that day, I have visited the vet, had my first Thanksgiving dinner, gained a lot of weight, met a beagle named Eve and still had time to become a local media star (if I do say so myself). Come and meet me at the new Suncoast Animal League, but I warn you, to meet me is to love me. Humbly, Adam |
