Update: June 25, 2008

On Wednesday, June 18, 2008 Suncoast Animal League received custody of the two remaining animals from the Memorial Day rescue in New Port Richey. Spike, the 11 month old Rottweiler, was immediately neutered and adopted two days later. Walter, the white rat, was adopted the following day to a family that just adored him when they met him.

The adoption of these two animals provides a happy ending to an otherwise very sad story. The agencies involved in the initial discrepancies have managed to work out an agreement so that animals facing distress in the future will receive the care they require without having to wait for the "red tape" to be worked out. Carrie Posey-Fedderson, the former owner of the animals, has been charged with felony animal cruelty.
